OPEN Call For Research Participants:
Charles DeVeaux is looking for individuals and couples to participate as interviewees in 'Mediated Intimacies' which is the working name of the thesis research he is conducting for his Masters of Arts degree in sociology, at CUNY - Brooklyn College.
This research is an exploration into how women and men perceive and experience intimacy in relationships.
If you or anyone you think might be a good candidate to participate in this research, please contact me here, email me at charles.deveaux (at)bcmail.brooklyn.cuny.edu or, additionally, you can call 718-913-Ø777.
The topic of research for this thesis was prompted by an interest in the nature of love and relationships Charles DeVeaux has been observing for more than 10 years. The understanding resulting from this study can lend to the existing research available which discusses how women and men, dealing with their own challenges, can create closer, more fulfilling relationships.
Charles DeVeaux is conducting the research by scheduling interviews with qualified participants on a voluntary basis. There is no budget for the operation of this study and no monetary or material compensation for participating.
I would love to interview everyone, and people of all persuasions, but to arrive at findings for the research questions in a timely manner, and set a baseline for further inquiry, this first round of research involves interviewing a limited number of individuals, 18 and older, particularly people who consider themselves Black, hetero-romantic, American women and men. They may be of African American, Caribbean American, West Indian American, Latin American, or multiracial heritage as long as they identify themselves as people living a Black American cultural experience in the U.S. Participants can be married couples, partnerships, single, dating, divorced, or widowed, as long as at some point they have experienced a relationship of at least two years.
